Need some therapy? Listen to music!


When I want to forget the world I just turn on the radio... I can feel better, for sure. That's why I think music has such a heal energy. And you can do a playlist by yourself, but take care because you can mess up some songs and then, you won't get better. Nowadays music therapy is the most chosen recipe. As all the other medicines, there are some contraindications, like some music can make you feel angrier or get crazier ( I didn't confirmed nothing yet...). But i want to talk about the good points of music therapy here, so let's go...


There is something something we have to consider: Music has a great effect on ours emotions. It's common we act using ou emotional part, like thinking with the heart, not with the brain. If you have a very hard decision to take you should listen to Joseph Haydn, it would help you to relax and focus in your problem.
In my opinioin, music can help people to don't give up, I'm sure about it, because I can find a courageous girl inside of me after listen some music. When you stop to hear a song and feel it you can imagine the situations the song is talking about and realize what you want for you. It's simple!
With no doubts we have to agree that when you are emotionaly okay, you are physically okay. So, with a simple songs recipe can make you enjoy more life, even live more. Music acts in our all body, influences our system, that's why Music Therapy give us a increase in life quality.
Therefore it's easier to breath listening to music!

A kit for me!




Hello everyone :D
I have to write the last week theme, I'm late again. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this text.
So, let's prepare a coma kit for someone... It would be better if I prepare one for myself, because I don't know everybody's likes and dislikes. First of all, we can't face this like tips, because people are differents, as the coma. We have to considere there are more serious coma cases. But, we gonna imagine that my coma is really simple and I could fell a lot of things (Please, God, don't ever thing I want to be in coma!).
As you are preparing my kit, you have to know th
at I HATE HOSPITALS, so you must bring me some flower or perfumes, maybe I could forget where am I. :D It is clear tha people in coma can hear. I love music, there a lot of them that make me remember something good, I would probably fell better. So, the realy first item is a CD with songs I like!

I like my teddy bears, most of them my sister gave to me, and there is a big mokey
that a friend of mine gave to me! I would like to have him by my side... I use to sleep with him, so, if I will sleep for a long time it's better have a teddy bear with me. I also like reading, just bring me a book, and read it, of course.

You can bring the series I watch, I would love to listen to it. :D And, how about you drescribe the scenes? Perfect, I know! I really like to take pictures, I like to search them... A good place is full of beautiful images.

I'm not too demanding (am I?), but here are the things I enjoy living, I don't know about being in a hospital for a long time, but I would like to have the things I said with me. And how about you? How would be your kit?

Economy

After chosing my theme, I realized how difficult is to understand some news about Economy. You will see what I'm talking about. The challenge for this week is to take a look in some news websites and to select 3 related news. So I chose one about crisis and the other two about growth/development. Here we go:

The first one is from THE GUARDIAN, and it's about the Euro crisis.
This article tells us how a country can transform other, I mean, how one can carry down another.
It says: "In a day of turbulence in the currency markets when the euro plunged more than two cents against the dollar and share prices fell heavily in Europe and North America, expectations mounted that Portugal would quickly follow Ireland in calling in the International Monetary Fund and the European Union."

The second has a link with this one I just talked about. Both of them tells a relation between the countries and the IMF. This article is about the increasing on Greece Economy.
What we know is that Greece was in a deep crisis, but, as the news explain, even though is small, there's a hope for growth. "The IMF predicted Greece's economy will begin turning around in 2011. Wage and price inflation are beginning to moderate, 'setting the state for improvements in competitiveness' it says."

The last is a article from San Fransico Chronicle and it's about a expansion economy even with a high unemployment rate in U.S.
In a paragraph it says: "Growth will strengthen over the next three years, but not enough to bring unemployment back down to more normal levels of around 5.5 percent to 6 percent, according to the Fed's forecasts. At best, the Fed projects 3.6 percent growth in 2011, and 4.5 percent growth in 2012 and 2013."

The best article, in my opinion, is the third one, because it didn't get away from the main point. It is where the others sin. There's a long text for each one, I got tired reading them. And they have almost the same focus, the difference is that they don't refer to the same country. What I want to say is that we could do only one text, clearer and objective.

How to erase the stressful part of your day

Hello again :D
Well, when I was thinking about what to write here today and it started to play a song on my mind: "I want to break free" from Queen, don't ask me why, but maybe we can give other meaning for this song. Whatever. We are here to talk about stress. So, have you ever heard someone saying "Hey, calm down, just breath!" or "Breath and count from one to ten!"? Okay, we both know that's just work when you got angry with someone or something in that moment. Then, the question is: what can we do to relieve our stress?

I coudn't find an easy answer, like those ones we love, just saying just do that and that and you'll see the results. I just found some tips and you can follow them to think when you are going to bed "Today was a good day, hope tomorrow gets better". Before we start, we have to remember that Stress is an emotional answer for the damages caused by the outside world, so my suggestions are based in how you can turn it off.

The first one is to Read a Book! I swear, is that simple. Sooner or later you will be so connected to the story and then we be distractive enough to forget some bad things. It would be my first choice, I like to read. The next is a habit to create, prepare the things you gonna use in the morning before you sleep and wake up 10 minutes earlier. The 10 minutes earlier are for a little work out, you gonna be more prepared for your day. Organizing your stuff you'll be more convinced that you're not forgetting anything.

You can also play some sports. Just choose one, anyone. It can be as simple as walking around or riding a bike. Just laugh and don't forget to smile. Try to say NO more often, it works. Go for a trip with some friends and talk a lot about everything. Drink just a little bit and dance all night long (but, please, don't use drugs!). Adopt a little dog or cat and enjoy all the friendship you can have and sing in the rain or even on a karaoke.

The most important is: never ever stop! In my opinion, if you forget to live you might get crazy. So, don't try it. Just remember your days as a kid, with no resposabilities and fears, and do it. Do all the things you want to. As Bob Marley used to sing "Don't worry about a thing, 'cause every little thing is gonna be alright..."

Guess what, I'm late with my text...but here I'm, to talk about Nightmare. Of course you know that is the bad dreams you have. First of all, you gonna dream when you are relaxing, more than that, when your body and mind are relaxing, it was proved that EVERYBODY dreams, you can forget but you dream. So, now lets come back to nightmare, people also has bad dreams, doctors says that something relate to three quaters of drea
ms are the bad ones.
Normaly when someone has a nigthmare he/she wake up quickly and can't come back to sleep for a while. This happens because, maybe, the person was dreaming with something that she is afraid of, so this kind of dream contains some terror and dangerous situations, she can't sleep again because that still in her mind. You probably know how it feels like.
Nowadays there are lots of researchers interested in this subject, but there isn't a real definition for nightmares. They could only prove that nigthmares are not common to adult, being more common in children over 5 years old.


There are some websites that offer basic explications for these bad dreams, I'm not so convinced about what we can trust. It's really simple, you just have to make a link with your life, and then you find the answer by yourself (the thing is: so why there are doctors that still doubting if there is a solution on internet?). "Dream with bad things mean that you are afraid of something in real life and you need to resolve this problem. If you dream that you are stuck, it is because you are stuck in a situation in your life". Ok, good, so if I dream with a constipation? I'm not creative enough to create an answer, anyway, I'm trying to say that nightmares are to complex for you just guess. It is studied by psychologist and psychiatrits, happens on the subconcious, so lets be sensible, believe only with you see the researches.

The Thanksgiving Day


Hello everybody!
I don't know what it's coming, but this theme is more difficult than the last... Ok, no more complaints because I'm just enjoyng this thing to write... So, today I have to speak a little bit about the THANKSGIVING, the name is alredy self-explanatory, but here's some of the history about this celebration. Thanksgiving is an annual holiday which people thank God for the happiness an good things. There's a contradition about when, exactly, the tradional event started. In Canada they celebrate Thanksgiving on the second Monday in October, however, in the United States the celebration is on the fourth Thursday in November.


As I told before, thanksgiving is a tradional event, so there are some details they will always going through. The turkey, for example, means an offer and nearly 90 percent of Americans eat the bird (curiously, there's a national federation for the turkeys). They also have other traditional food like mashed potatos and pumpkin pie. It's the day for gather the family together, so normaly they cook together, in my opinion to be with your family makes you feel better, I think it's in this time when people realize how much someone means in their lives. The family being together it's an other symbol for the thanksgiving.
Of course there are people who prefers to stay in the church or alone to pray, probably it's a real religious thougths, maybe something is related to the beliefs. There are those ones who go to watch a parade. Parades are an integral part of the holiday in United States. New Yorks's Thanksgiving Day parade is the largest and the most famous one. Other way to thank for something is the volunteering, you can offer a dinner or just help someone in a community. It's the most beatiful gesture.
Here, in Brazil, we do have a day for Thanksgiving (I didn't know before searching), there's a law which established also the fourth Thursday in November. In our case, it was a diplomatic thing, because the an ambassador was in U.S. and saw the celebration. And it isn't a holiday. So, this idea of thank didn't work here.
I know it isn't Thanksgiving day yet, but I want to say what am I thankful for: I'm thankful for being alive, thankful for my family and the ones I love and I'm really thankful for having no regrets and only good things in my life. And how about you, what are you thankful for?

Astrology: Believe or not

Hello my readers. How are u today? ps: Hello teacher :D
Ok, today I'm gonna talk about the Horoscope, so I have a question to start this: Who had never ever read something about your sign? Just raise your hand. I think you're human lost link (yeah, I'm kidding). But, there are things you probably don't know, like we have more then three kinds of horoscopes, I'm not inventing...
Zodiac Sign Horoscope: The most known, everyone knows your sign. If I'm not wrong this one comes from the greek culture, it is related with the planets, stars and nature events.
Chinese Horoscope: There is a legend behind this kind of horoscope, each animal corresponds to a different year.
Druid Horoscope: This one establishes a relation between trees and humans.
Zoroastrian Horoscope: This is the most complicated. It envolves totem, animals, 32 years and symbols.
Parents Horoscope: With this horoscope, you can find out what father/mother you're, before you being one...
Mythology Horoscope: This is like the opposite of the Zodiac Sign Horoscope, because Mythology Horoscope talk about the person's negative side.
Pets Horoscope: Yes, it is what you're thinking. As the Zodiac Sign Horoscope this one was based in the astrology.
Now you have many options, just choose one to read... And don't forget to choose if you want to read a daily, weekly, monthly or yearly one.
The most curious thing I found is that the Astronomy disagrees with Astrology, both of them studies the sky, but there is a gulf between them. The astronomers says that Astrology is based on magic not science (little bit rude don't you think?). So, if we follow their thoughts we can conclude that Astrology is a blind faith, ant it is always bad to believe in something really mysterious.
Of course we can ignore the impact of horoscopes in our lives. I don't believe at all. I read, but it doesn't mean I do everything that "stars" said I have to. You can believe, it is optional, the world won't accuse you of witchcraft (I hope that).
